To race or not to race? It was the hottest day of the year, record beating temperatures scorched the UK. There was no breeze, just getting to the kitchen to make a drink was an effort.

Then came the rain shower, a band of light rain swept across with brisk SW winds and dropped the temperature. To race or not to race? The roads were now wet for the first time in days, would they be slippery? The rain had all but gone, the wind dropped, number is on the back.

By the time the first rider was off, the roads had pretty much dried. It was a quick night, providing you didn’t get held up by drivers or drop your light on the roundabout (and go back for it).

Thanks to the organisers, time keepers and caterers & well done to the riders
