What an end to our evening series… 20 riders turned out for the inaugural run of the new P841R course. Muggy and with an unhelpful southerly breeze, most found it tough.

It was nice to avoid the distractions of Chichester and turn about before getting to St Pauls Road, however, as it retraced steps, it took some mental toughness to keep the effort level tempered for the “additional distance” past the old finish spot.

Congratulations go to Terry Wilson of Chichester City Riders for getting the first Course Record of 21 minutes 41 seconds. Undoubtably this will be broken next season, but he can wear the crown until next year.

Thanks must go to the timekeepers & spotters who are working out the logistics of the new finish. Also to the caterers who have tirelessly in keeping us fed & watered through the season.

Finally, thanks to the team behind getting the new course ready.
