Phew – that’s the TT season kicked off at least. 2 weeks of cancellations due to weather and roadworks meant it was 3rd time lucky. We had a clear course, dry roads (mostly) and 9 riders turned up to chalk up the first TT times for 2024 (one brought the wrong shoe/pedal combo though !)
It wasn’t all sunshine though, just as we started we had a little shower come over, blown in by the cold northerly. The rain didn’t last and it was the wind that challenged most of us, being the first time out on the road on TT bikes since last summer.
Still, it was a good evening and good to get that start to the season.
Thanks go to the organisers – timekeepers, spotters, pusher offers, sign-in, catering as well as the all important sign boards.
Congratulations to James for taking line honours, first across the finish and fastest of the evening. Congratulations to Rosie for getting a course PB too, that takes some doing in those conditions.
