Hmm, where’s the summer? We have to assume that the threat of showers and the generally chilly weather kept most of you away. Well, the showers never happened and although it was chilly, it was still very warm on the bike. The wind? The early forecast strong winds turned into a very light northerly that had no impact on the times at all.

7 riders made use of the benign weather to include a new come and try rider doing his first ever Time Trial, welcome and well done Chris, riding a road bike with non-specific TT kit. He just proved nicely that you don’t need all the gear to produce a decent time, averaging over 20mph for the 10 mile course, Chris posted a time just under 30 minutes which is great for a first time, never ridden the course at pace before. I think we could see some far quicker times from Chris now he knows what to expect.

The rest of us are “old hands” at this, knew what to expect and still tried our best to post a quick time – well done Matt Hill on taking another win on your brief flits down south. I believe we’re all glad now we’ve done it even if we do question our motivation during the efforts.

Thanks go to the organisers, time keepers and race officials who make all this possible.
